How can you use the heatwave for staying motivated this summer?


We all know when the sun even slightly comes out, every girl in Britain’s top comes off and bikini on, making a b-line for the garden; prepping for the Instagram worthy tan lines to show their mates.

But with the heat, home workouts are difficult and it’s too hot to do anything, who can be bothered to do anything productive? Well here are 6 things you can do to keep motivated using 2019’s summer heatwave.

Booty and abs workouts in the garden.

Grab a matt, your bottom and some water. I watch @lisafitt workouts to keep me in shape, this doesn’t always have to be a gym thing as she demonstrates fun equipment free routines.

For Abs:

  • Plank pull through- 3 sets x 15 reps each side
  • Elbow to knee crunch- 3 sets x 15 reps
  • Crunch variation 3 sets x 20 reps
  • Cocoons 3 sets x 20 reps

For garden booty exercises I would recommend donkey kicks, lunges, wall sit, bridge hip drop, squats

Set up your tunes and you’re good to go, if you’re feeling extra challenged, do this every day whilst on holiday and in the run up to your holiday and jump in the pool to cool down. Work hard and get that body you’ve always dreamt of having! Although it may seem difficult at first, I promise it gets easier after a few days of commitment! But once you start, you’ll find staying motivated this summer a lot easier!

Who loves Love Island water bottles?

For all of you Love Island fans, get your Love Island bottles out, and drink that water. Even if you set a reminder with “I’VE GOT A TEXT!” you’re going to commit to drinking water with a swirly name down the side. If you don’t know it already, the more water you drink, the more energy you are going to have so you don’t ‘melt’ in this heat! Water has so many health benefits:

  • Flushes out toxins
  • Clears up acne
  • Keeps you hydrated and healthy
  • Improves blood pressure

Plus you are going to feel even better for drinking from a reusable bottle, I switch between my Love Island one and my cherry coated Chilly’s bottle.

Get your tan on!

Tan quicker by reading: Yes it’s a thing! As soon as you immerse yourself in a good book, you will stop shuffling, target the surface area you want and tan without forcing it to happen. Reading in the heat keeps your brain working, meaning productivity. Tai Lopez (a motivational speaker) says a book a day keeps the bills away. The more you read, the more knowledge you acquire, and knowledge is power! Successful people read and you can be tan and be successful. So get your tan on!

Make a beneficial change to improve your motivation in 2019

Set yourself up by the pool side and try reading The Magic by Rhonda Byrne (the author of ‘The Secret’). These books by Rhonda are some of my favourite books and have really shaped my life and my mindset.
Being an entrepreneur sure is difficult, days where certainty is foreign and motivation is low, people don’t see behind the scenes and the hard graft that goes into achieving goals. To keep going and learn how to deal with this, learning from others is one of the best ways to get out of a rut. What I like about Rhonda is that she teaches you to put the negatives away and not to focus on what you aren’t happy about and instead, learn gratitude and positivity.

Staying away from technology can be a good thing

I know you’re using it right now, but switching off your phone because it can’t take it in the heat isn’t a bad thing! You can mediate, nap, do some yoga, swim and really refresh your mind. Think outside the box when it comes to a heatwave! Maybe motivation comes from things you’re passionate about and maybe this is the perfect time to find your inner spark and drive. This could be the summer you find a new sport you like! Spend more time with people who are important in your life. Take joy in warm sunny walks. Connect yourself with the world again to inspire motivation. Thankfully you don’t have to listen to politics on the news this way!

  • Go on a road trip
  • Show off your tan in this heatwave with a photoshoot!

Sometimes a good ‘new me’ change or self-actualisation can really be a good way of getting your drive back. When you dress cool, you feel cool, and when you feel cool, the ball gets rolling. The Mood Pants girls had such a fun time going on a natural shoot to cool locations and getting their butts out in different pants. You might release something you didn’t know before!
