Moving into our Mood Pants space
Turning the idea of Mood Pants into a reality
Starting Mood Pants hasn’t been as simple as we thought it would be. From being told that samples are going to be delayed, to not knowing you need to do this, that and the other. We have been faced with a challenge, but that’s what entrepreneurs do, so let the journey begin! It started with an idea which wondered in the air and has turned into learning the craft and the tricks of the trade to turning this into a daily lifestyle.
Meet the team
I, (Zoe) am juggling sixth form education. Still having to dedicate time to achieve those pesky A-levels and managing a part time job. I always find it a priority to sit down and do some ‘Mood Pantsing’, now a term that we use as an action.
Luke earning some money on the side still works passionately towards his well skilled golf career. Who knows, maybe we can become his own sponsor one day? He’s always wanted a company but had no idea he’d be in the ‘woman’s underwear’ industry. My mum also dedicates her time to her own company as well as ours. She is our Company Secretary, but we are still coming up with a quirky name for Louise. We are glad to have her support, as well as the opinions and advice from loved ones and business people.
How we go about business
It’s always a fun environment at my house, taking over the dining room table and soon to have every spare space stocked with colourful packets and stacks of Gift Boxes. We spent months passing around pants as well as bottom jokes, understanding how a pair of pants fits on a bum comfortably. I even manage to find time to put my Mood Pants on!
You don’t always know how people are going to react when you’re young and tell them “oh yeah, I’m making mood related underwear.” It’s either the look of is it really going to work? Or it’s an inspiring face which makes people look up to your ideas and motivation to create something for yourself. Some people want to know everything there is, from what we are doing to what’s in the next range. I urge young minds to do the same, be creative and dedicate yourself to what you believe in.
Future Plans
Currently, the team are preparing for a variety of pop up Christmas markets, considering we are a Bedfordshire based company, we can’t yet travel to every corner of the country. We can’t wait! Having a physical platform to sell Mood Pants at is important to us because it will be great for us to be able to get to know our customers. In 2019, the plans are to attend multiple county shows, wedding events and possible even some festivals.
Recognised by Natwest
We are very proud to be a part of the NatWest Entrepreneur Accelerator which widens our horizons where we will be getting advice from and coaching and work space. This is a great entrepreneurial scheme which will help towards our success in Mood Pants.
